Most likely, you’re going to have to ponder somewhat to find the answers to the above questions, but that’s okay. I had to do the same.

There was a time, when I didn’t like myself and didn’t know where I was going, let alone how to get there. I wanted to make a substantial income, who doesn’t that’s breathing, and I wanted to help others do the same. I had a growing and somewhat successful construction business, renovating homes, but I felt that there was something else far more important, than lining my pockets out there, waiting for me.

I prayed long before I stumbled upon an ebook on the internet. I knew network marketing was my ticket even though I failed several attempts. It is vaguely memorable now when I think about the webpage I found, I may have googled it, I think, for a mentor.

See, I knew that if I was going to succeed in network marketing, I would have to have a mentor. Why?, because I wasn’t confident enough in myself or knowing how to choose the right company. I was already in a company that wasn’t living up to its promises and when I really got determined that this was the right industry, wrong company, I started searching.

I downloaded an ebook, read 16 pages, got busy, and a few nights later, received a call asking me if I was able to download and open it okay, which I did. Even though I told “her” that I was looking for a new company, she wouldn’t tell me hers. Her main purpose was to have me read the book and listen to some audios that she was sending me links to, as we spoke.

I never had that happen before, have you? Everyone wants you in their deal!!! Well, I finished reading the book that night, listened to the recordings and my life has never been the same! That’s a Good Thing!

Why don’t you believe it? 

The same reason I didn’t believe it either. It sounded foreign to my ears and in my heart. Why is that? Many of us weren’t taught to succeed. We’ve been programmed since we were about 24 inches tall that we were failures or perhaps other debilitating descriptions. 

So, now I have to ask you, do you really want to succeed in Network Marketing? It’s not that difficult if you know how to tap into your hidden potential. 

I believe one of the first things necessary to learn is exactly what network marketing is and isn’t.  Do you think it’s a numbers game? Do you think it’s about selling products?

You may be shocked to find out that network marketing is not a numbers game or selling. Of course, it also depends whether the company you’re in has the business model of recruiting versus sponsoring.

Secondly, you have to know “why” you’ve decided on network marketing. When the going gets tough, your “why” will keep you striving for the top. (See chapter 2 of my free ebook offer)

I’ve seen offers that are free for a day, only to see that day extended to a week. I’ve seen offers that advertise a free e-book, free lessons and/or materials, so you start reading and 20 pages later, you find out its not free, they only want $99.95 and that’s without the knives!

As you’re reading down the pages, the words jump out at you and capture your imagination. I Google all the time and am amazed even when looking for a product like solar lights, not only do companies pop up where I can buy them, but the blogs that appear to help me decide which lights and where to place them, and just possibly, the best place to purchase them.

So what’s a person to do? Is there really such a thing as a FREE Offer?

There is depending on what you’re looking for. You may have to dig a little but they’re out there. I happened to find one truly free offer that has changed my thoughts about network marketing and how I conduct my business.

I remember my mother handing me a book about Dr. Christiaan Bernard, the world’s first Heart Transplant Surgeon, upon learning that I had expressed an interest in the same. For whatever reason, I never pursued the grades necessary for college, let alone med school. I could tell you all the excuses I have made in the past but I don’t want to bore you.

I’ve been trying to find myself ever since then, working a variety of jobs and dabbling on and off in various MLMs, explaining previously, I didn’t have a clue about the industry. We can fast forward telemarketing, bank telling, construction superintendent, construction owner and others in between, to now.

Since closing my construction doors, in 2007, I have embarked on an amazing journey, starting with discovering a group of people that mentor and coach others personally and professionally. I honestly knew I needed help professionally to succeed in this field, but I thought I was through focusing on myself. Huh!? I had barely scratched the surface.

Now, a year and a half later, I am living a more enriched life due to all the training I’ve taken advantage of and because I now understand my personality and others. I accept and love me for the way God made me to be. I am a better friend, wife, mentor and coach because of the skills and training I received. I know where I’m headed and sometimes when the path gets a little foggy, I  plug into the team for the encouragement and support, plus, I’m able to help others that are coachable.

When I talked to him today, he said he couldn’t figure out why the news media was painting such a bleak outlook regarding the economy because he has about eighty clients looking for homes.

Now, I should probably tell you that my friend is an ex-Army Ranger, very personable and unstoppable. I let him know that he always succeeds because of his positive outlook and he agreed that might have something to do with it. I call it the Law of Attraction in Manifestation.

You might be asking about now, “Well, what about all the news reports? Are they wrong?”

They can be, depending on your attitude. How do I know this? I’ve been studying a book called, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Dr. Hill interviewed many self-made millionaires and  published his research in 1937.

Every week, I mastermind with a group of people all studying this book and I can’t tell you what a difference it has made in my life, both personally and professionally. What’s really funny, well, it wasn’t funny then, but I thought I was done working on me. I had focused on me for many years, okay, at least eight years straight and I wanted a break!

One of my mentors told me that “to get more, I have to become more!” Oh, my! I was kind of discouraged right there, but now, almost two years later, I can tell you it has been so worth it. I’m not the same person I was then and I’m truly enjoying my life. I know who I am, where I’m going and enjoying the journey.

Shane is in 7th heaven. Everytime I try to test my voice he hushes me and gets this devious smile on his face. He’s had so much fun making fun of me.

Before dinner tonight, he asked me since I couldn’t talk, who is helping my downline? I told him its actually quite simple, my teammates, the Success Team Builders, are helping my downline and all our new affiliates.

Not only are our affiliates given a schedule of our live-interactive training calls and team calls, they’re also given a list of people to call if they need help all the way up to the President of our company.

My husband was shocked! He knew we had more help with this company and team, but he didn’t realize that I could even ask our President, Mr. B, for help. He  told me he’s glad I’m finally having fun and not struggling anymore.

Shane also asked, “Didn’t we join all those other companies on the premise that there would be this kind of support?” A flood of memories and broken promises started to resurface but then I remembered to tell him that was then, before I found a team of mentors. Eventually they led me to the right company, and it all started with an ebook.

I worked and worked and after a little over a year, I had enough customers to pay for the trip to the Conference. My husband and I had a great time and when we got back; our business went kaput in six months due to the lack of support. My sponsor retired and my next available up line had just remarried—you know where I’m going because you’ve either been there or are there now, there wasn’t anyone to help me and I couldn’t get help from a side line. Oh, no, that was forbidden.

Well, advance a few years and a few more companies, which I’m very grateful for because I learned the hard way but sometimes that’s a good way to learn. I invested some money, which will never be recouped, but I made some good friends along the way, not to mention some good lessons.

I was going to give up in this field; after all, I was making a decent living renovating homes in my construction business. But something kept nagging at me and drawing me to keep searching for the right (operative word), “right” opportunity. Finally, I decided, there had to be a mentor out there to help me. So I searched out help and found a whole team. (I’ll tell you how to find them later if you need them too.)

There, I learned what to look for in a company, how to understand comp plans, how important it is to read the Policies & Procedures and how to identify a person’s personality by using the colors blue, red, yellow and green. The “colors” alone is worth thousands!

So, I joined a company, actually, it’s not just a company, I call it “home”, as many of us do. I never have to look for another again! You might think that’s pretty arrogant, but it’s absolutely true and I’ll be glad to tell you why:

The founders of my company have over 30 years experience each and have been friends for at least that long. They understand the importance of relationships and have worked in the field as well as “corporate”. My company is over 5 years old and successfully jumped the hurdles of a start-up. We operate in over 40 countries with very little overhead and a stream-lined system.

Well, what kind of products does my company offer? Remarkable products people will buy even without a compensation plan attached to them, and, our customers are about to receive a bonus too! Whenever they order, they will receive a coupon for a discount on another product. How cool is that??? If they’ve been wavering about buying another product, this will give them incentive to try it!

How would you like to send your customers to their own retail store? A website that doesn’t have a tab for the “opportunity” or a tab about the “founders” but one that just caters to your customers? (You’ll have to let me know if you’re interested in that one.)

Since I joined to make money, our compensation plan just received several enhancements for the 5^th year in a row and we’re only “6” this year! Have you received a raise in your network marketing company lately or ever? If so, I’d like to know about it.

Now, as of right now, it’s even easier to make extra money and it’s even easier to advance to the next level(s). What does that mean??? That means my husband and I are going on the all-expense-paid Leadership trip to France this fall while we continue to build our team and we’re going to take our team mates with us.

There can also be a “death” with a company, whether it goes under, is shut down or more likely, one you’re trying to build and realize you’re going nowhere. The one you have put your heart and soul into along with thousands of dollars to sustain and grow it, only to watch it dwindle because others can’t duplicate you or you’ve run out of funds.

 It can feel like a death when you realize you have to move on. Its like a bowling ball in the pit of your stomach. Many thoughts reeling through your head:  How could your friend/sponsor lie to you? Why didn’t they help you? Why didn’t they teach you what you needed to know to be successful? Why didn’t they want you to be successful? Why can’t I make sense of this? Why did I fail???!!

YOUR LACK OF SUCCESS IS NOT YOUR FAULT!

Believe it or not, you are not alone. You can be successful by knowing that you’re building the right business.  There is a way to find a solid company that not only has integrity, but looks out for your best interest first. “Well, I did so well before, how do I find the right company?” I’ll answer that shortly.

I know how it feels to finally hit the wall and know it’s the end. The last time this happened to me, I was so determined to find someone to help me succeed that I searched and searched, and not only did I find one mentor, I found a whole group of caring people who were building success stories, just like me.

I can tell you from experience that when you are mentored from the right team of people all heading in the same direction, they become your family. With that kind of connection, along with generating an extra income, success is right around the corner. Sure, it takes work but it is so much easier when there is a team helping one another.

We mastermind together, we work together, and, we even “cruise” together. These are the kind of people you’d like to vacation with a whole month or more. It makes the difficult times easier because you always have genuine friends to talk to and share with.

I’ve had many times in my life where I thought I was successful. At 15, being elected as President of our 4-H Club was absolutely amazing to me. The girl I ran against had horses all her life and was far more experienced than me but I won because of the leadership platform I was standing on. Just for your information, though, I could ride, bareback to be exact!

Job-wise, I excelled at telemarketing. I loved it! Especially, when customers would come to the office to meet me. I eventually was promoted to my very own showroom which overlooked the downtown area and river. I “broke” into all the big businesses and I really enjoyed meeting and making friends with so many people. This must surely be SUCCESS, I thought.

When my boss started restructuring my commissions, I had to re-think where I was and where I was going. Little did I know that success, the kind of success I was looking for, would elude me many more years but I was searching for a better way of life and I was determined to find it.

Well, I kinda found it by accident in the form of retail sales and later, direct sales and later still, network marketing. I honestly didn’t know anything about network marketing but I “fell in love” with idea of making money that would pay my bills and thensome, month after month and year after year.

I was seduced by several sponsors, okay, I really don’t want to tell you how many, that told me how much money I could make in their opportunity, and, get this, they were supposedly already making a killing!

I thought, if all my bills were paid every month and my husband and I could spend every moment together we wanted, if we are driving the vehicles of our choice and living in our dream home, and could have a vacation even once a year and entertain friends anytime we wanted, that would be success.

So, okay, it didn’t quite happen the first time, second time or third time but, I’m where I’m supposed to be with great things happening everyday and I have a TEAM that I can rely on. I’m working on my success and do you know what???
